Volunteer Opportunities
Partner with Kinship Center to positively impact the lives of children on the Central Coast.TutorTutors will meet with children either here at Kinship Center or in their home to assist with homework. The tutor can identify which subjects they are qualified to assist with. Requirements: Must be 18 years or older and must have a background check. Interested volunteers will:
Community LiaisonUnder the guidance and supervision of the Development Department, the Community Liaison will provide support in Kinship Center’s outreach efforts by attending community events as assigned. Examples of duties:
CrochetWhen a child is adopted from Kinship Center, they receive a beautiful crocheted bear (like the ones pictured above). These bears are made by volunteers in the community, and we never have enough bears! If you'd like to crochet adoption bears for Kinship Center, click here to download the crochet instructions. Other OpportunitiesKinship Center offers other occasional volunteer opportunities such as help with large mailings, coin rolling, help at special events, and more. We also have an auxiliary volunteer group, Kinship Support Unlimited (KSU) that hosts a variety of projects throughout the year benefiting Kinship Center. Some of these projects include selling wine at the Del Monte Shopping Center summer concert series, helping at Kinship Center's Donor appreciation event and holiday party at Seaside's Oldemeyer Center, organizing the toys and supplies in our basement, and more.
