Family Assessment/Parent Preparation Classes – A 24-hour series of interactive workshops designed to prepare prospective adoptive and foster care parents to bring a child home. This course is focused on understanding the child’s perspective from a developmental view, with special attention given to enhancing attachment between child and parent. It provides hands on tools that support parenting a child in transition.

Love & Logic Parenting Series– Parents attending this course will develop an understanding of the Love and Logic principles of raising respectful, responsible children through allowing them to learn from their mistakes and live with the consequences of their choices. This course is offered at no charge to Monterey County residents or parents of Monterey County children, and made possible by the Mental Health Services Act.

Parenting Children who have Experienced Trauma and Loss Series – A specialized series of classes designed for parents, kinship caregivers and guardians, who are parenting children who have experienced trauma and loss as a part of their history.  This course provides tools, techniques and information that empowers participants to effectively parent their child. This course is offered at no charge to Monterey County residents or parents of Monterey County children, and made possible by the Mental Health Services Act.
