Family Assessment/Parent Preparation Classes – A 24-hour series of interactive workshops designed to prepare prospective adoptive and foster care parents to bring a child home. This course is focused on understanding the child’s perspective from a developmental view, with special attention given to enhancing attachment between child and parent. It provides hands on tools that support parenting a child in transition. The course schedule conveniently alternates between weeknights and weekends.

Bridge Builders Basic Parenting Series - Adoptive parents and caregivers may attend these special classes that address their needs from parenting preparation into the years beyond with techniques that will support the families over time. This course is offered at no charge to Monterey County residents or parents of Monterey County children, and made possible by the Mental Health Services Act.
