The Education Institute of Kinship Center offers in-person classes for both parents/caregivers and professionals, as well as online classes which may be taken from any computer at your convenience with Internet access.
- Adoption Clinical Training (ACT) - More than 5,000 child welfare professionals have completed Adoption Clinical Training (ACT), which is recognized as a model curriculum for the industry.
- Family Assessment/Parent Preparation Classes – A 24-hour series of interactive workshops to prepare prospective parents to bring a child home through adoption or foster care.
- Love & Logic Series – Parents attending this course will develop an understanding of the Love and Logic principles of raising respectful, responsible children through allowing children to learn from their mistakes and live with the consequences of their choices.
- Incredible Years Parenting Series – A system of promoting competencies in both parents and children, these courses teach parents clinically tested techniques to promote positive behavior with their children at home and in school. Classes are offered in English and Spanish.
- Bridge Builders Basic Parenting Series - Adoptive parents and caregivers may attend these special classes that address their needs from parenting preparation into the years beyond with techniques that will support the families over time. Classes are offered in English and Spanish.
- Bridge Builders Advanced Parenting Series – After completion of the Bridge Builders Basic Series, parents and caregivers may continue their education with this series of advanced classes.
- Adoption in the Schools – Developed for adoptive parents, school personnel and adoption professionals, this course will help enhance the academic experience of adopted children.
- Relative Caregiving: Strategies for Kinship Care – Relative caregivers and professionals are provided with information and intervention techniques to assist children of all ages living with relatives.
