Celebrity Boxing Raises Funds for Kids! |
 For the third year, Kinship Center will be the beneficiary of a unique event that pits well-known professional boxing champions with some community members willing to go into the ring for kids.
Garcia Boxing School in Salinas, owned by Kathy and Max Garcia, at left, is hosting its third annual "Celebrity Boxing" on March 20 at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey. Following a VIP wine reception at 6:00 and catered dinner at 7:00, the program will feature former world champions Riddick "Big Daddy" Bowe, Tommy "The Duke" Morrison, and Samuel "The Nigerian Nightmare" Peter, along with undefeated super featherweight Eloy Perez and super bantamweight prospect Alejandro Perez.
Community boxers Rich Pepe of Little Napoli Restaurant, boxing writer Doug Fisher and other communnity members will join the pros in providing an evening's entertainment and funds that help needy children receiving services from Kinship Center.
