Orange County Bikers Raise Dollars for Kids
Orange County Bikers Raise Dollars for Kids
A year ago volunteers came out in force to plan and host the first “Teddy Bear Ride” motorcycle fundraiser to raise dollars for kids.
Spearheaded by the Kinship Center Auxiliary of Orange County (at left with some helpers), the popular 100-mile ride returned for another round on Sunday, May 1. This year’s ride was another success, featuring riders on sport bikes, old school bikes and everything in between, said event chairpersons Mandy Stewart and Shirley Carlisle. The event included a scenic ride from Ortega Highway to “Hell’s Kitchen” (for a game of skill and to collect a card for the day) to Lake Elsinore and Temescal Canyon, and on to Texas Lils in Temecula via the acacado groves. Bikers ended up at Original Mike’s in Santa Ana for music, food, games and fun for the competitors and supporters. All funds raised will go to Kinship Center’s programs that serve children in need of safe, permanent homes. And..oh yes…one of the prices of admission was a new teddy for a child. blog comments powered by Disqus |
