Kinship Center donors and volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization, making it possible for us to achieve positive outcomes for children and families every day.

In November each year, Kinship Center joins with charities around the world to honor these giving people on National Philanthropy Day, as the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) recorecognizes all those involved in the philanthropic process worldwide.

November 15, 2011 marked the 26th anniversary of National Philanthropy Day, and Kinship Center paid tribute to two special volunteers in separate celebrations during the week.

Kay Filice (r), past president and longtime member of the Kinship Center Gabilan Chapter Auxiliary, was selected as this year’s honoree at the November 15 celebration sponsored by the Community Foundation of San Benito County. Shown here with past honoree Kris Waller, Kay has provided leadership and helped the Chapter raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Kinship Center programs.

Monika Fewtrell (r), co-founder and president of ‘Kinship Support Unlimited’ is shown here with husband Dean and Kinship Center Board Chair Sandy Haney at the November 18 celebration sponsored by the Monterey Bay Chapter of AFP and the Development Executive’s Network. Monika devotes many hundreds of volunteer hours each year to serve the needs of Kinship Center children and families.
